PokerRoom May Be Reopening Ahead of US Online Poker Legalization

Thanks for this post from Demonking at Fiverr!

A longtime online poker playing site, PokerRoom.com, has been speculated to re-open for online real money poker playing once again.  PokerRoom, who originally opened in 1999 and closed in 2009, is talking about the possibility of opening once again.  A once very profitable and trustworthy online poker site, PokerRoom was forced to pull out of the US in 2006 with the passing of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act.  Pulling out of the US proved to be detrimental to the future of PokerRoom, causing them to eventually shut down its operation in 2009.

Just a short two years later, there is talk of PokerRoom once again opening their site for online poker playing.  The rumors have not been confirmed, and it’s all speculation at this point, but poker cash players are hopeful.  A very reputable and trustworthy site, PokerRoom will have its name recognition on its side should they decide to open for online poker playing once again.  Players of all ranks, both new and old will most likely be ready to trust PokerRoom once again since it was considered the most reputable site when it was open for playing.

PokerRoom is a part of the OnGame network and is currently ranked number 5 in the world of online poker playing.  Should PokerRoom re-open, it might not be ranked number 5 immediately, but chances are that it will get there in a very short amount of time.

The rumors that PokerRoom is re-opening all started from a tweet from one of bwin’s SEO Managers.  While that tweet has since been taken back, the speculation is still out there.  Why would PokerRoom want to open once again?  One speculation is that there is talk that the US will once again legalize online poker playing.  Should the US legalize poker once again, there’s no doubt that OnGame Network as well as PokerRoom will be allowed to do business in the US.

With the website of PokerRoom being revamped, PokerRoom has also opened up a Facebook and Twitter account.  These events have helped to fuel the rumors that PokerRoom is making a comeback in the near future.

Not only is PokerRoom one of the internet’s most reputable online poker playing sites, it’s also the first site to receive the approval of Ecogra, a London based online player protection organization.  PokerRoom is also the only poker site to offer a Mac client.  All of these factors along with their outstanding reputation make the comeback of PokerRoom an exciting concept for people everywhere who want to play poker online.
