It hasn’t been an easy road building my own business from the ground up but it certainly has been well worth it. Five years ago, armed only with the San Jose T1 in my home office, I set out on a path to be my own boss. I was still working full-time in corporate America then so I spent my weekends trying to get things off the ground. There were many weekends I would have loved to just hang out with my friends and party like most 20-somethings but I had a vision! I wanted to succeed and be my own boss by the time I was thirty. Here I am, only 28 and I‘ve done it. With the success of my internet based business, I am now able to open my first retail shop. I am excited to have the opportunity to interact with customers in person and am hoping that this will just be the first of many store fronts to carry my name and logo!

New Resident Evil Looking Better?

I have to say, I have not played a Resident Evil game in a long time because none of them were any good in my opinon past the classic number 3 with Nemesis. But now I have seen trailer after trailer released on the new Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City and I have to say the game is starting to look better and better with each trailer. I had absolutely no intention of purchasing this game at first but I think this has become a game I want to play again. I'm not sure if it is just because I have been watching the countless number of trailers or because I want to relive a good Resident Evil game like the originals, but I am hoping this game turns out to be pretty good and if it does, I am going to have to get a copy of the game. Check out the launch trailer and see what you think. Although it looks like the story line is going to clash a little with the originals, it looks like it might just have a good chance.

Could this become a Video Game?

Watching this video, I could easily see a video game being created out of this short film. This is quite a thought provoking and interesting video. The concept seems similar to many game types with nuclear devastation (like Fallout), company corruption in biological studies (like Resident Evil and many others) and a somewhat new element, that same biological study mutating into unforeseen abominations. The study, originally intended for good, seems to be quite the opposite. And on top of the already devastating result of a nuclear apocalypse and classic corruption, this could make for one hell of a game. Watch the video for yourself and see what you think. Remember that it is quite thought provoking because of the lack of detailed information given so far. It appears to be only part of an interview to a larger story much like a teaser. Check it out.

Binary Domain

This game has received a lot of good user reviews and ratings so far according to many game stores. It is a very interesting concept even if it has been used before, but it looks to be an action packed first / third person shooter in a similar style to Gears of War. The graphics with this game look awesome and the story line looks like it should be interesting but I think it may lose its luster before the end of the story. Regardless, it looks like a good game with lots of action and great graphics. I can always appreciate better graphics and fun if it means sacrificing a little bit of focus on a storyline but who knows, I may be wrong.

Will Final Fantasy 14 be Free to Play?

So it is likely that after the last flop of the online Final Fantasy that the newest one, Final Fantasy 14, will be free to play online. Last time around, many people were not happy at the idea of having to pay a subscription for really any Final Fantasy game. Many believe the price isn't worth the amount of content or the quality for that matter.

MMOHut reports that there are five reasons Final Fantasy 14 will go free to play:
 1. Free to Play would revive a dying player base.
 2. Free to Play would increase revenue.
 3. Players are not happy with the current state of the game.
 4. Japanese developers are familiar with the free to play platform.
 5. Simply put, Free to Play is the Future.

I would say that I have to agree with the reasoning across the board. I know that since WoW, I will never pay for a subscription MMO unless the monthly fee was drastically reduced. The amount of time and the amount of money that must be devoted to that type of game is simply too high. Looking at how much I have spent on WoW compared to how much grinding I have had to do in order to get the required items to have fun is simply not worth it in almost any other game. Even WoW has lost the luster that it used to have and if Blizzard turned it into a Free to Play now, the player base would likely increase (maybe not as high as it used to be, but still it would increase). Looking at games that don't cost a monthly fee, I tend to have more fun compared to the amount of money spent and the very little time spent grinding in order to have fun. Although the article doesn't offer any comparisons like this, it is still interesting to think about when it comes to the last statement they make. I love ESPN.com because they show college football games that are otherwise not televised in my area. Using our wireless internet Beverly Hills, I can get online and watch a game that I would otherwise not be able to see in my area. I am an avid Texas Longhorns fan, but I live in California due to my job. I have spent many a Saturday afternoon over the last three years watching football on my computer while my children watch a kid’s show on TV. It works perfect because my wife and kids can watch what they want to on television while I am still able to watch the game. It is amazing the coverage that college football receives. Watching college football is one of the things that I most look forward to in the fall. In southern California, there is not a drastic change of seasons as there is in some other parts of the country, but I know fall is here when college football starts up. While I love living on the west coast, I am much happier knowing I can still watch my Big 12 teams play.
